He sought peace, found terror. Liam escaped his shadowed past for the tranquil beauty of Crystal Falls, only to find the idyllic facade crumbling. Now, a chilling countdown has begun. Each day brings a numbered card, a sinister marker drawing him deeper into psychological terror. Whispers slither through the silence, and the suffocating feeling of being watched intensifies with every tick of the clock. Has Liam unwittingly stumbled into a darkness far more profound than his own grief – a place where the shadows of Crystal Falls aren’t just memories, but a terrifying reality?

Excerpts:

A sudden chill traced its way down his spine, the feeling intensifying to a distinct sense of being watched from just beyond his peripheral vision. He shook his head again, a dismissive scoff escaping his lips. Just nerves, the new place playing tricks on him. But the image of the stark white card lingered in his mind as he filled the kettle, a tiny crack in the peaceful facade of his new beginning. He couldn’t quite dispel the feeling that the first shadow of something unknown had just fallen.

Another fun fast thriller by King. I’m kinda addicted to these short stories. I want to know what Denise’s story is. Why is she the way she is? I need to know. I have so many unanswered questions that I’m hoping will be answered in future books. Also, the writing is wonderfully detailed. It paints a picture of where this is happening and what’s going on. Again, though, Denise?!?! – Angie Lynn

OK, Morrigan! You’ve made your point. I’m hooked, ok? Seven Days of Shadows is the second in the Watcher of Crystal Falls. I read the first one, Seven Days of Silence, and just had to go right to the second. This one is every bit as good and intense as the first story. Ms. King really has something going here with this story, and the way she tells the stories keeps the readers glued to the books and wanting more.

In this one, we meet Liam, who has recently lost his family in a fire. He moves to Crystal Falls in the hopes of staring anew and reviving his writing career in a new place. And Crystal Falls is just the place to do it.

And then the calls start.

And then the notes follow.

Following the same storyline from the first story, Liam is terrorized by the intrusion and violation cause by this person, Denise. What is her story? Why is she doing this?

Obviously, we’ll have to wait to find the answers to that. And I’ll be waiting, Morrigan King.
Trust me, I’ll be waiting. – Jim Donohue
